We love a good story…

I received this ring after my Grandmother past away that had a lot of nostalgicsignificance. It was a birthstone ring that my Grandfather had specially made for myGrandmother with the four birthstones of her four children. My Grandparents never had muchmoney, so this was a very special show of the love my Grandfather had for my Grandmother andhis children. My uncle even remembers going to pick the ring up with my Grandfather as a boyand how special the gift was to my Grandmother. For years the ring sat in my jewelry box as itwas too big and as much as I appreciated the nostalgia of it, it wasn’t totally my style as it was.I met Diana at Porini Gems through a great friend of mine and found out that she minesand sells Tsavorite, which just so happens to be an iteration of my birthstone Garnet. This gaveme a great idea! Since this ring was a birthstone ring what would be more perfect thanreplacing the current stones with my own birthstone? This would elevate a beauful heirloominto something even more valuable and precious to me. Before my trip to Kenya, I had myjeweler measure the stones to be sure we got the right size stone cut. I also had him repurposethe old stones into Christmas gifts for my aunts, uncle, and my father. During my 10 day vacationto the beautiful country of Kenya, Diana worked tirelessly to make sure the Tsavorite stonesarrived before the vacation ended. I couldn’t be more happy with my experience working withDiana and how beautiful the stones look in the finished product. I now wear this ring almosteveryday and love that I am able to think fondly of not only my Grandmother and Grandfatherbut of my trip to Kenya and the wonderful experiences that I had.
